Night of the Nightingale (Poem) by Anjana Menon, I Economics

Night of the Nightingale

In Silence of night under the glistening moon,
I heard the rhythm of a startling tune.
High in the air was an April breeze,
Forever it brings to me a friendly face.

There it was again in an instant belie,
came to my hearing the sweet lullaby.
Accompanied was stars and comets in the sky,
Wishing each other a hearty goodbye.

I searched for the queen of marvelous melody,
Until there she was at the end of prosody
Devoured in the solitude of the lonely flight
Was the nightingale, the mistress of the night.

I went to her side, to hear her last refrain,
But without a glimpse, she took off once again.
